The Dormition of the Theotokos Church in Jeonju celebrated the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos with Great Vespers, a procession, and the Artoklasia on Saturday August 15th. On Sunday the 16th, Metropolitan Ambrose and Fr. Hilarion Jeong presided together over the Feast Orthros, the Divine Liturgy, and a Doxology for National Liberation Day.
An Agape meal followed, and the parish marked the feast with congratulatory performances by the Women’s Fellowship and the Sunday school students. Faithful who traveled from Seoul and Busan also took part in the services and the meal, celebrating the Feast of the Dormition together and sharing in joyful fellowship.
This feast was especially meaningful, as it was celebrated in a church made even more sacred and beautiful following the completion of the second phase of the iconography work. We give glory to the Lord for allowing us to keep this feast in such a beautiful setting, and we give thanks to the Theotokos, who watches over the church always. We are also grateful to everyone who labored in preparation for the feast.
