The iconography work at the church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Jeonju continued for the 3rd week, with systematic and painstaking work.
On Friday, August 4, at noon, the group of iconographers and their assistants, as well as members of the Parish who were there as volunteers, experienced an unprecedented joy when, with the lowering of the top floor of the scaffolding, the icon of the Pantokrator, the many-faced icon of the Heavenly Divine Liturgy and the Prophets of the Old Testament in the dome of the church, were revealed in their final form. A spontaneous shout: “Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee” was expressed with emotion and spiritual joy that flooded all hearts.
As the day of departure for the iconographers from Greece approaches, the group’s members have mobilized all their physical and mental strength, so that they can complete the iconographic program of the church. With the intercessions of the Most Holy Theotokos, whose Service of the Small Paraklesis (Intercessory Prayer) they chant every night after work and before dinner, they are sure that the miracle of the completion will finally happen!
