With the help of God, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, the Metropolitan of Korea and Exarch of Japan Ambrosios celebrated the Divine Liturgy again in Tokyo, Japan with the priest from America, but of Ukrainian origin, Father Paul Koroluk, as co-celebrant.
Thanks to the multi-ethnic congregation, Japanese, Ukrainian, Russian, English, Greek, and Korean were used as worship languages.
After the Readings, in his sermon, the Metropolitan stressed the salvific importance of all of us obeying the Church. With particular emphasis, he pointed out that obedience to the Church means obedience to Christ.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the faithful received with enthusiasm as a gift from the Holy Monastery of Iviron on Mount Athos the copy of the icon of Panagia Prortaitissa. The icon was brought from Mount Athos by the Japanese monk Timotheus Kozaki, who lives in the Iviron Monastery.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a meal of love followed in the hall of the church, during which the Metropolitan communicated with all the faithful.
