Following the Royal Hours (First through Sixth), which were read on the morning of Great Friday, young men and women decorated the Epitaphios under the guidance of experienced older women.
At 3:00 p.m., the Ninth Royal Hour was read, followed by Great Vespers of the Apokathelosis with a homily.
At 6:00 p.m., Orthros of Holy Saturday was chanted, together with the Lamentations and the procession of the Epitaphios around the church. After the conclusion of the service, many of the faithful participated in the Sacrament of Holy Confession.
