The winter camp for the members of “Syndesmos” was held on the weekend of 14-16 February 2025 at the premises of the parish of St. Boris in Chunchon.
Forty-five young men and women from Seoul, Incheon, Jeonju and Ulsan spent an unforgettable three days, which included common worship, Bible study and discussions based on the central theme: “Let us love Christ more, for Christ is everything”, opportunities for fellowship, common meals, walks in the countryside and entertainment.
Another memorable event for all participants was the visit to the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Kapyeong on Saturday afternoon, where the young men worked hard in order to clear the road of snow while the women worked to clean the grounds within the monastery. This was followed by monastic hospitality at the monastery’s headquarters, lovingly provided by Sister Agathi Paik, during which the participants attended a short talk by Metropolitan Ambrosios and Father Anthony Woo.
Afterwards everyone participated in the Great Vespers, which was celebrated by the priests Fr. Anthony Woo and Fr. Jeremiah Cho, with the Metropolitan officiating. The visit to the monastery ended with a Memorial Service held at the grave of the late Metropolitan Soterios.
With gratitude to God, Who is the sponsor of all good things, and with the best memories, the participants of the three-day camping retreat program departed on Sunday afternoon, with the intention to strive to love Christ more.
