On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the 21st Annual Clergy-Laity Assembly was held online at 3 p.m., following the Constitution of the Orthodox Metropolis of Korea.
The 21st Clergy-Laity Assembly included two parts. The first part was open to all the faithful and catechumens. It began with the opening prayer and was followed by the introductory speech by Metropolitan Ambrosios, during which he developed the central theme of this year’s Assembly. At the beginning of his speech, the Metropolitan conveyed the paternal wishes and blessings of His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for the New Year and the successful outcome of the work of the Clergy-Laity Assembly for the further progress of the Orthodox Church in Korea.
The second part was attended only by the members of the Metropolitan Council and the Ecclesiastical Councils of all the parishes of the Metropolis. The spiritual, logistical, and financial reports for the year 2024 were presented, and the financial budgets of the Diocese and the parishes for 2025 were put forward for approval. In addition, the planned spiritual and logistical projects were all approved.
The proceedings of the 21st Clergy-Laity Assembly were conducted in a spirit of love and unity, thanking God for His many blessings during the past year and asking Him to bless His vineyard in Korea so that it will bear rich fruit this year.
