On December 5, 2018, after the Great Vespers of the Feast of St. Nicholas, a reception dinner was held in honor of HAH’s Visit to Korea. After a delicious meal and wonderful performances given by the faithful of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Seoul, HAH Bartholomew suddenly requested to visit St. Maxim the Greek’s Chapel which is directly adjacent to the cafeteria in which the reception was held. St. Maxim the Greek’s Chapel is the church in which the faithful of St. Nicholas Cathedral use for daily services and is primarily used by the large Slavic community who live and work in Korea.
Fr. Roman Kavchak serves the Slavic community and was present for HAH’s visit as well as Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea. Several others of the St. Nicholas Cathedral were there to warmly greet the Patriarch.
The visit was memorable and we are happy to share it with you.
