As every year, this year too, the great Feast of Christmas was celebrated on January 7 with brilliance and spiritual joy for the Slav-speakers living in Korea.
The Metropolitan of Korea and Exarch of Japan Ambrosios officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Seoul, accompanied by the priests Fr. Romanos Kavchak, Fr. Antonios Lim and Deacon Johan Park.
Instead of a sermon, the Christmas Message of His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was read. Moreover, during the distribution of the Antidoron gifts were given to the children while the Russian faithful sang Christmas carols.
Due to the measures for the protection of Covid-19, the established festive lunch and Christmas celebration in the Hall of the Metropolis Headquarter did not take place following the Divine Liturgy, but instead a special treat was offered to all the faithful, in the courtyard of the Church of St. Nicholas.
Everyone’s wish and prayer is next year this time to celebrate the Birth of Christ under better conditions.
