With the help of God, the lessons on Byzantine Iconography that were held from Saturday May 23rd to June 23rd were successfully concluded with the participation of numerous adults as well as students who are interested in this ancient Church Art.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the closing ceremony was held on Sunday June 24th at St. Nicholas courtyard with an exhibition of all the icons that were painted during this period. His Eminence Metropolitan Ambrosios recited a short prayer and then gave a short speech, offering thanks to the Lord for the successful completion of the courses. He also thanked Professor Sozon Giannoudis, who came from Greece as a volunteer and taught the sacred Art of Byzantine agiography, together with his Korean assistant-teacher, Ms. Tatiana Seo. Finally HE thanked all the participating students for their enthusiasm, devotion and their remarkable progress in Byzantine icon painting.
